Victoria will play in The Final 2014

Tuesday 22nd of July was held the first semifinal of the Tallink Cup 2014. Victoria versus Silja Serenade at Kaknäs stadium (Stockholm) – kick off 12:30 local time.

Victoria won the group C with maximum points and was better in quarterfinal against Symphony. Serenade qualified to playoffs from the group level as a second from group B and won the quarterfinal game against Superstar team. Victoria has been one of the best and always good and stable quality team throughout our tournament history (2011 silver, 2012 gold, 2013 fourth). Serenades history hasn't been so successful, but they have very good sports activities participation traditions and one of the most long substitution bench. Serenade also showed excellent game especially in the quarterfinal against last year's winner, therefore Victoria must be very alert, that this will surely not be an easy semifinal. As a remark, Victoria and Serenade hasn't played against each other, at least during the Tallink Cup history.

As sometimes it happens also in our northern countries - the weather in the game day in mid-July was sunny and very hot. The game was very equal and ruthless battle. Serenade kept maybe the ball more, but Victoria had more chances to score. The score was opened by Serenade already on the fifteenth minute, but Victoria scored the equalizer five minutes later. There was a claim that Victoria's goal was "maradonaish" as kicked by hand, but referee count it in as a scored goal. Half time score 1:1. On the second half, emotions high, the equal hard battle continued. Serenades goalkeeper was very good and showed high quality in saving his goal and organizing its team. No more goals in normal time of the game and score still even 1:1. The extra time continued, with good fight, but no goals. Final whistle score on the board in tie 1:1. This meant penalties and lottery and whose nerves are better. Victoria did 4 and missed their third one. Serenade missed the first one and fourth one. Lalalaaa, what a good and interesting game, but luck was this time under Estonian flag.

Final score Victoria versus Silja Serenade 1:1 (4:2) (normal time 1:1, half time 1:1).
Good fight and faith form the beginning until the last penalty kick – Victoria will play in The Final 2014 for the gold and glory. Congratulations for you all!
