Office vs Superstar 4:3, both continue in QFs
Monday 2nd of June was held the last group level game of the Tallink Cup 2014. Superstar versus Tallink Office (group D) at Kalev stadium (Tallinn) – kick off 10:00 local time.
Before the game everything was open in this group. Who exactly will continue to the playoff phase? Superstar had a high score win over Europa and Office had a tight loss against Europa. Therefore all three in this group D had a chance to continue. We might speculate, that Superstar would be the favorite to win this game, but despite the tight loss of the in the debut game of Office team, they did show very good football. As already mentioned Superstar could take little bit easier due to the high score win in their first game, but Office would be saved to continue only with the win against their colleagues from the ship in the Tallinn-Helsinki line. Naturally also Serenade and Baltic Queen are interested about this game, as it will clarify their opponents in the quarterfinal matches.
It was an enjoyable football match from both sides. Actually real footballs fight, where the thrill and drama lasted until the very end of the game. In general the first half belonged to Office team, where they did a lot of dangerous shoots and moves towards the opponent's goal. Superstar didn't sit just without action, but it was little bit disorganization on the field. The first goal was done by Office in the end of the first half and the second goal followed in the very end of the first half. Here it should be pointed out, that This was the first goal in Tallink Cup history, where the scorer was a girl. You are the lady Linda Valtonen! The score in the end on first half 2:0 for Office team. Second half was very equal fight and battle, where also Superstars managed to launch their game better. They scored 2 in a roll, where one of them was form penalty. But office didn't sleep as well and 2 additional balls were kicked to superstar`s net. Superstar pressed as they can and managed to have one more goal, but then it was fight against the time and time ended with the whistle from referee as normal. Both teams played well, especially Office team and despite the fact, where there was missing couple of good players from superstars, they still showed excellent fighting spirit and game.
Final score Office versus Superstar 4:3 (half time 2:0). Land versus Sea – this time Poseidon & co didn't favor the seamen. But both will continue in quarterfinals.
