Baltic Queen won the Bronze medals
Tuesday 19th of August was held the Bronze Game of the Tallink Cup 2014. Silja Serenade versus Baltic Queen at Kaknäs stadium (Stockholm) – kick off 12:30.
Baltic Queen won the group B and was better in very interesting and tough quarterfinal against the Office team, but lost in semifinal to Hotels team. Serenade qualified to playoffs from the group level as a second from group B and won the quarterfinal game against Superstar team, but lost in very tough semifinal to Victoria. Serenade has shown this year excellent play, as they have won last year's winner Superstar and lost only with lottery penalties to 2012 winner Victoria. Queen and Serenade has played also this year group level, where BQ won with high score. There was missing many players from Seres team and naturally now they want to show to Queen, who they really are.
Due the rerouting of the M/S Baltic Queen to Tallinn-Helsinki line in the beginning of August, then basically all crew (including the football team) moved to the M/S Romantika. But as BQ has played all the season under BQ colors and this is their last game, then it´s decided, that they will finish this year's tournament with the name of Baltic Queen. It was appealed to the business side, that come on, please wait with the rerouting, we have a tournament still ongoing, but they didn't listen ;).
Both teams arrived to the game with quite short substitution bench and missing some key players, but despite of that they were full of faith, to have lots of fun and ready to fight for the bronze medals. Game started with quite modest playing, but after some minutes the schemes started to settle and scoring moments started to happen. The score was opened by BQ on the 21 minutes from free kick in the box. Huuhaa, their joy didn't last long as the equalizer was done by Seres skillful game 2 minutes later. Scoreboard in half time 1:1. The second half Serenade started to press, but with no luck and the team started to be tired. This opened the windows to BQ, as their strikers with counterattacks did quite a head ache to Seres defense. BQ takes the lead again in the beginning of second half and with those deadly counterattacks BQs striker Vaglaots had 2 more in the very end of the game and performed the hat trick.
Final score Baltic Queen versus Silja Serenade 4:1 (1:1). It was a good and full of fight game, but Queens legs lasted longer and their front line did what they had to do. Vivaaa la Regent – long live the Queen - Baltic Queen won the Bronze medals 2014. Congratulations!!! Cheers also for Serenade for the 4th place, as they actually really performed very dangerously in this year's tournament. See you both again 2015.
