Be aware of the smaller cannon – Superstar vs Europa

Monday 5th of May was held the first game of the Tallink Cup 2014. Silja Europa versus Superstar (group D) at Kalev stadium (Tallinn) – kick off 10:00 local time.

The result of the performances of Europa in last year's tournaments has been quite modest. Unfortunately they haven't made to the play-off phase. It might surely mean that they have better desire to reach to semi-finals this year – time shows. But last year Superstar game out from the closet and showed to everybody, what kind of secret power they are keeping hidden in their … shoes. Superstar is the winner of the Tallink Cup 2013. Both teams are running under Estonian flag and do their everyday service between Tallinn-Helsinki. Europa as a big fat slow cruise vessel and Superstar as a fast smaller sprinter. The selection of players should be much wider for Europa, but as time has shown us many times, that this is not always advantage and bigger is not always better.

Game was held in beautiful spring day, where it was surprise-surprise snowing. This means that the pitch was very wet, quite fast and slippery. In the first quarter it was equal battle and everybody was anxious, who will open the score first. It came from Superstar and many many times in a roll. Even so many, that Superstar midfielder Martin Adusoo did the hat trick already in the first half. Europa had quite many good chances, but no luck with the goal. Half time the score 4:0 for Superstar. On the second half Europa started with pressing, but it didn't last so long as needed and as there were still no goal from their side, then Superstar started again. As there were so many moments for Europa also to score, then finally the fortune came to them as well, and they did score their goal of honor. Superstar showed very good and quite disciplined and skillful game. It means that they surely ready to show themselves also in the playoffs – time shows.
