Vital penalty and Galaxy in semifinal
Tuesday 7th of May was held the first quarterfinal of the Tallink Cup 2016. Galaxy versus Shuttle at Kalev stadium (Tallinn) – kick off 14:00 local time.
Galaxy has continued to playoffs as first with full points from group A. They are again strong this year and naturally want to reach to final and play again for the shiniest medal – as they are sick and tired to have any more silvers, what they have already 2 in their pocket. Shuttle has sort of new joint team has shown good team work and play in group level, where the continued to playoffs as a second from group B. Galaxy needed to travel and this game is the first game for Galaxy to play in Tallinn. Also should be mentioned that Galaxy has not played in our history against with their fast friends from Shuttle, nor Star and Superstar.
The game started with fast pressure and even faster goal from Shuttle. But Galaxy gathered its forces and stabilized the game picture and managed to equalize the score by 20th minutes. Good battle from both sides continued, where both showed excellent play. Half time score 2:1 for Galaxy. Second half selfless battle continued, where quite many good opportunities to score from both teams. The equalizer came after 10 minutes, when Shuttle striker did beautiful goal. Score on the board in tie 2:2. Seven minutes to go and Galaxy striker was pulled down in Shuttle box and penalty was given to Galaxy – and … they missed it. Last minutes lots of moments to score for both sides and everybody was already ready to continue with the overtime 10 + 10 minutes, but … In the very last minute, in the corner kick situation, there was quite a struggle in the box of Shuttle, where referee saw such a fault, that he decided to give another penalty for Galaxy. Hard decision, but the verdict was done. And this time the colorful team from most colorful ship didn’t miss this chance.
Final score Galaxy versus Shuttle 3:2 (half time 2:1). Excellent game by Galaxy and this is their third and earned win in a row this year, mixed with some luck. Vital penalty and Galaxy in semifinal!
