Galaxy will play for the gold and glory
Tuesday 12th of July was held the first semifinal of the Tallink Cup 2016. Galaxy versus Tallink Hotels at Kaknäs stadium (Stockholm) – kick off 12:00 local time.
Both teams continued as the winners from their group level games. In quarterfinals Galaxy won the Shuttle team and Hotels won Romantika. Hotels have been the winner of 2014 and Galaxy has already twice played in the final, but both times they have had the silver. Last five years these teams have met three times, where the last two times Galaxy have won the battle. This is nothing less than fight for the place in the final for the gold and glory.
The game in Stockholm started with the strong press from Galaxy. Their attitude and will in the beginning was really impressive and Hotels team was really quite in trouble. This lead to two beautiful goals for Galaxy, where the first one was free kick from about 40 meters. Then Hotels managed to gather its forces and achieved also to start to move the ball more adequately and scored beautiful goal to the upper corner of Galaxy goal. This balanced the game and it went with equal fight until the half time whistle. Half time score 2:1 for Galaxy, but left everything open for the second half. Second half started also with quite equal battle, where fight was strong and both teams had some good chances. Then by 54 minutes referee give little disputable penalty for Galaxy, which they scored with no problems. After that Hotels did what they could, but it was more Galaxy game until the end and managed to score even more two goals. Good fight by Hotels, but their cosmic Swedish friends from Galaxy did excellent performance and beautiful and strong game especially in team wise and their willpower to win this game was excellent class.
Final score Galaxy versus Tallink Hotels 5:1 (half time 2:1). Another excellent game by Galaxy and there are going to play in the final 2016 for the cold and glory and for their name in the Hall of Fame. Galaxy is strong and be aware, whoever is coming to try to stop them.

Now we need to wait for the second semifinal result where Baltic Queen and Isabelle will play in Riga 21st of July. Galaxy is already waiting and it is doubtful that in the final they would go for their third silver medal. Hotels will continue fight for the bronze medals of 2016. The time and place of the final and bronze game will be agreed and published in coming weeks.
