Queen did to Victoria
Wednesday 29th of June the fourth and last quarterfinal of the Tallink Cup 2016. Baltic Queen versus Victoria at Wismari stadium (Tallinn) – kick off 10:20 local time.
Queen of Baltics reached to playoffs from group D with full points and Victoria as a second from group C. Victoria has been during our tournament history always reached to semifinals and they have list of different color of trophies to show. Queen´s history hasn’t been so colorful so far, but they have a really good team this year and surely they will be not easy nut to break. It is mentionable, that these teams met also in the quarterfinal battle of 2015, where it was really tight and interesting game, where Victoria won in 3:1.
The game was real battle and full of skillful performances in individual level and also acting as a team. Queen started with pressing, but soon enough Victoria started their engine and started to attack and also controlling the ball and their game. Very equal battle in contact game and opportunities to score. Half time score with no goals 0:0. The ruthless battle continued on the second half with equal fight. Victoria had the best chance to score, but the kick to the goal from 5 meters hit directly the goalkeeper. In the second part of the second half referee saw the little doubtful handball in the box by Victoria´s defender and the penalty was given to Queen. Lots of emotions and dispute about judging the decision, but penalty was a fact and Queen scored with no problem. After that Victoria did their best, but no luck and no equalizer. If you don’t score yourself then your opponent will and in the very end of the game Queen scored second goal.
Final score Baltic Queen versus Victoria 2:0 (half time 0:0). Really good game from both sides, where the result could be also vice versa, but Queen did excellent game and mixed with some luck, they are the winner of this game and first time in semifinals.

Now the semifinal pairs are clear: Hotels versus Galaxy and Isabelle versus Baltic Queen. The semifinals will be held during the month of July and the exact dates and stadiums will be agreed and published asap. Please notice that in the final four we have almost all big decorated powers, where Hotels (2014) and Isabelle (2015) have already their place in the Hall of Fame and Galaxy has reached to silver twice.
