Tallink Hotels won the Bronze medal of 2016
Bronze game of the Tallink Cup 2016 - Tallink Hotels versus Baltic Queen. Tuesday 16th of August at Kalev stadium (Tallinn) – kick off 10:00 local time.
The teams Hotels and Queen have performed excellently this season. Both with full points from group level to quarterfinals, where Hotels won Shuttle team and Queen conquer Victoria. The winning series of both teams were stopped in semifinals, where Hotels lost to Galaxy and Queen lost to Isabelle. Hotels have been the winner of 2014 and also got the bronze in 2013. Queen´s team hasn’t reached to medals so far. During the tournament history Hotels and Queen (and its “ex-names”) hasn’t played against each other so far.
Game for the Bronze medal of 2016 was held in pouring rain. Stadium was wet and dangerous and so were the players. Unfortunately Queen arrived to the game with not full team and this gave advantage to the opponent. Hotels opened the score already on the second minute from successful corner-kick. All in all the whole game was strong pressure from Hotels and Queen standing strongly in the defense and doing dangerous counterattacks, where the equalizer was kicked to Hotels net soon after the opening goal. Hotels continued the pressure and 2 more goals were scored before the half time whistle. Half time score 3:1 for Hotels team. Second half the game picture didn’t change. Two more goals for Hotels and the second one from excellently performed free kick by Queen. Good fight by team of Queen, but this time Hotels did take everything what needed and given.
Final score Tallink Hotels versus Baltic Queen 5:2 (half time 3:1). Tallink Hotels won the Bronze medals of Tallink Cup 2016. Congratulations!!! Big applause also to her majesty of Queen for the honorable fourth place!
