Tension in Helsinki - Serenade continues over Europa
Silja Serenade versus Silja Europa - this is the third game of quarterfinals of Tallink Cup 2017 - Wednesday 21st of June at Brahe stadium (Helsinki) kick off 13:30 local time.
Europa proudly under Estonian flag made to playoffs from group B as a first of their group and Serenade proudly under Finnish flag continued from group C as a second. The game town of this quarterfinal was decided by the coin flip and lottery favored Serenade and Europa therefore needed to travel to Helsinki. These teams have never played against each other during the 7 years tournament history. Both have in being once in the final four and battled for the medals.
It’s a first time, when Tallink Cup is held in Brahe stadium Helsinki. Strong battle starting from the beginning. Serenade takes the lead in 15 minutes, where referee sees a hand ball in the box and gives penalty and Kokljuschkin scores. Battle continues and Europa equalized the score some ten minutes later by their right midfielder Aunap. After tough and equal fight, half time score in tie 1:1. Second half was a little more Serenades game, as keeping and moving the ball skillfully and quite a bit more than their Estonian friends, whereas also their substitutions bench was longer than Europa´s. Serenade takes again the lead, when good gross to their striker Henrikson.J in front of the goal and strong ball to the net. Europa fights back and their striker Astel equalize the score again some ten minutes before the final whistle. Everything is still open. Still, no overtime or penalties, as couple of minutes before the end Serenade scores again and that basically sealed the game. Good fight and good football from both teams, with excellent tension of the game, where scoring and equalizing lasted until the very end of the game.

Serenade proudly joining Victoria and Hotels to final four. So we have one semifinal pair clear - Victoria versus Serenade. They have met once in football pitch in 2014, where it was actually also semifinal, where in very tight game Victoria then won with penalties. Semifinals will be held during the month of July. We must also wait the last quarterfinal: Galaxy-Shuttle in 9th of July in Stockholm, where the winner will go against Hotels team in semifinal. We all salute for team Europa for good fights this year and keep your flags high and see you again next year!
