Football derby in Tallinn - Victoria goes forward

Victoria versus Baltic Queen, Monday 12th of June at Kalev stadium (Tallinn) – kick off 12:00 local time. This is the first game of quarterfinals of Tallink Cup 2017.

Group level games are over and let’s start with the playoffs. This game (Victoria vs BQ) is a principal and classical football derby. One royal highness against the other. Both teams are doing their everyday work on Tallinn-Stockholm route. Both teams are sailing under Estonian flag and home port Tallinn. Both teams love football. Victoria made to playoffs from group A as a first of her group and Queen continued from group D as a second. Due to the fact that these ships are not on the same day in the same harbor, the game date was decided by lottery (the coin flip), where the result favored Victoria, as easier for them to arrange the players to the game.

Rainy summer day in Tallinn and Victoria arrived almost with full strength to the game. Same time Queen managed to arrange the team, but zero substitutions. Victoria started strong and pressed started from the beginning. Score opened by Victoria striker Kaldma already on the 3 minutes and their midfielder Mõtt scored the second some minutes later. Despite the strong pressure, Queen managed to arrange some counter attacks, but no big threat to opponent. In the mid of first half Victoria’s player was taken down in BQ box and penalty by Victoria midfielder Artus followed – 3:0 on the score table. Queen defense line was in real troubles. In the end of first half - another two strong and sure goals by Victoria. Half time score 5:0 for Victoria. Second half Queen played with more confidence and organized – especially in midfield and attack. Despite the lasting strong pressure by Victoria, Queen managed to compose quite many kicks to their opponent’s goals, where one of them was success by their striker Söödor, what remained their goals of honor. Queen´s defense was still quite poor, as 2 own goals, one in the beginning and the other in the very end of the game. Victoria’s striker Kaldma did hat trick and Skvortsov scored from perfect gross pass. Victoria won with big score, but applause also to Queen, who all in all fight well, but no substitution and missing of some players was too hard for them.
