Land and sea – Hotels did to Queen
Tallink Hotels versus Baltic Queen, Wednesday 24th of May at Kalev stadium (Tallinn) – kick off 12:00 local time. This is the third and last game of group D of Tallink Cup 2017.
Both teams have shown in the history good play and victories. Hotels is also winner of the tournament 2014 and twice they have collected the bronze medals. Do to the rerouting of the ships last two years the actual team of BQ was playing under Romantika colors, but now again proudly representing Baltic Queen. 2014 they won the bronze and always have played in the playoff games. These teams have met two times, where both Hotels were better. It must be mentioned, that do to the forfeit by Baltic Princess both teams have three points in their pocket and in this game will be clarified, who will continue first and who as a second from group D to playoffs.
The beginning of the game was high pressure from Hotels. Good movement of the ball and creating moments to score. After 10 minutes Hotels midfielder Rannamaa with good tribling through the defense line scored and Hotels taking the lead. Quite aggressive game continued from both sides and Queen created many opportunities in the opponent box, but no goals. Half time score 1:0 for Hotels. The second half started with tough battle and more equal game. Game moved from one side to another and there and back again with quite many mistakes and opportunities. In the end of the game started again to happen. Rannamaa with skillful movement scored the see second for him and for Hotels. Right after that Queen´s striker was pulled down in the Hotels box and penalty was given – little hope for Queen to come back to the game. Unfortunately Queen´s striker missed that opportunity. Full battle until the end and in the last minutes left wing Tarik got good pass from the ground and scored the third for Hotels. Good and in some moments quite robust battle by both teams, but this time again victor was Hotels, but happily both continue to playoffs.

Hotels continue to quarterfinals as a winner of group D and Queen as a second from same group. Their opponents in the first phase of playoffs are coming from group A, where we must wait until Sunday, when Symphony and Isabelle will fight in Stockholm for the place in playoffs. Victoria, in group A, has basically already guaranteed its place in quarterfinal games. The winner of group A will play against Queen and the second place play against Hotels. All quarterfinals will be held during the month of June.
