Tallink Hotels won the bronze medals - Tallink Cup 2013
The battle for bronze medals of the Tallink Cup 2013 – Tallink Hotels versus Victoria - Kalev stadium/Tallinn, 22nd of August, kick off 11:30.
Both teams have played excellently with good power of will in this year's tournament. Tallink Hotels came first in the group D, won Star in quarterfinal and lost in semi-final to Romantika. Victoria came first in the group B, won Galaxy in quarterfinal and lost in semi-final to Superstar. Victoria has been really victorious also in last year's tournaments (silver in 2011 and gold in 2012). The support and organization by the team captain and all the fans on-board has been a real twelfth player on the field for Victoria. Hotels success hasn't been so excellent in past tournaments, but quarterfinal in 2011 and 4th place 2012 is still mentionable. Hotels were also last year in action in the bronze match, where they lost to Romantika. This year naturally they are eager to rise first time to the podium and collect the medals.
The game for the bronze medals was really equal battle from both sides, with lots of emotions and beautiful moments – real football. The first half of the game was tough combat for both teams, where from both sides had many of good moments to score, but after the half time whistle the score was zero-zero. On the second half the tough battle continued. The press from Hotels to Victoria´s goal was so hard, so on the 51 minutes Victoria's defence pulled down Hotels striker in Victoria's box, so referee didn't had no other option than to give penalty for Hotels. And Hotels striker Karlis Straume didn't miss. In the end of the second half Victoria pressed very hard and had some excellent moments to score, but it was not enough. Good game, hard battle from both sides, very equal, no goals from the actual game, but in total mega beautiful!
Final score Tallink Hotels versus Victoria 1:0 (half time 0:0) and with that Tallink Hotels wins the bronze medals of Tallink Cup 2013 – congratulations! And Victoria got the honorable 4th place!
