Silja Europa the winner of Tallink Cup 2011

The great final combat for gold and glory of the Tallink Cup 2011 – Victoria versus Silja Europa - Varemurru stadium/SW of Estonia 29th of July, kick off 18:00.

Both teams have during the tournament already shown that they have what is needed to be a winner – many skilful players, good team and great fighting spirit etc. Victoria is sailing on Tallinn-Stockholm route and her older and bigger colleague Silja Europa on Turku-Stockholm route. Victoria's victorious road to the final: Festival 2:1; Symphony 3:2; Baltic Queen 4:2. Europa sailed towards the final: Hotels 3:2; Baltic Princess 7:2.

The tournament organizers have chosen the final to be held during the festive of Tallink Summer days in Varemurru (location on the seashore of SW of Estonia). Reason is naturally that as much as possible the fans and colleagues could take part of this great event – and there where more that 300 of them! Really football is the greatest thing, but its nothing without fans and supporters! The pitch in Varemurru is unfortunately not the highest quality and also smaller in dimensions than the original stadium should be. Nevertheless the conditions are equal for both teams – so please don't blame the pitch :).

The final match was really attractive, beautiful with lots of emotions – real football final. The first half of the game was hard battle for both teams and Europa take the lead 1:0. On the second half started to happen: Victoria got penalty 1:1, Europa scored 2:1, Victoria equalized 2:2 and in the very end of the game Europa scored the winning goal. I think that everybody who was watching the game can admit - what a game and what a final, where the excitement lasted until the very end!

The final score of the game 3:2 for Silja Europa and they are the winners of the Tallink Cup 2011 – OLE OLE OLE SILJA EUROPA - congratulations! Victoria got honourably the silver medals – good job and congratulations!
