Isabelle is the Winner of Tallink Cup 2018

TAfter 2 days (28-29 May) full tournament with 12 teams and 20 games in Tallinn the Tallink Cup 2018 is done and we have a winner – team Isabelle!

12 teams start in the beginning,
8 to go forward to playoffs,
4 to battle for medals,
1 TEAM TO RULE THEM ALL IN THE HALL OF FAME!

First day, the group level games were held – 4 groups with 3 teams, where every team got 2 games and 2 best teams from every group continued to playoffs. Second day for playoffs, starting with quarter finals and semifinals and followed by Bronze game and the Grande Finale. Especially the final 4 teams had very equal battles in semifinals and in the games for the medals, where also penalty series and red card was needed to clarify the winner. Bronze game Silja Europa vs Tallink Hotels and the Grande Finale Victoria vs Isabelle.



Isabelle is the celebrated winner of the Tallink Cup 2018 – YEPIYEEE ISABELLE – congratulations and you are now in the Hall of Fame, again! Victoria got respectably the silver medals! Bronze medals went to Tallink Hotels team. Big and mega cheers to you all!

This tournament format (all games in 2 days in half pitch) is new for Tallink Cup - last 7 years it has been 4 months tournament, where the games has been played in full size stadium. These two days were full of emotions in all directions. And it was quite hard, especially for the final 4 teams, as they needed to play 5 games in a roll during the tournament in full sunshine. All in all, we truly hope, that it was mega great two days for everybody who participated.

During the award ceremony, where winning teams where decorated with gold and gems etc, were announced and awarded also:
• The Best Goal Scorer of Tallink Cup 2018 – Urmet Stepanov (Europa)
• Most Valuable Player of Tallink Cup 2018 – Artur Pinka (Isabelle)
• Best Goalkeeper of Tallink Cup 2018 – Aapo Vann (Hotels)

The eighth football tournament of Tallink Cup: 12 teams, 20 games, 64 goals, hundreds of players from Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Latvia, over 7000 fans, over a million emotions! Faith & Fun & Figh & Football is way better than … carrots!!

Hereby we want to greet and thank all the enthusiastic football players, who participated. Really, because of you this all happens and continues – dear footballers, we solute you and hundred cheers for you all!!! Again this year we need to give BIG applause for all the team captains, as their role is vital for all the arrangements for their team and games. Special bow and huge thanks goes to all fans, sponsors and helping hands. Thanks to you all we had again a really great football tournament Tallink Cup 2018.
