Victoria again 2:1 against Festival

Monday 14th of May was held the first game of the Tallink Cup 2012. Victoria versus Silja Festival (group B) at Kaknäs stadium (Stockholm) – kick off 11:30 local time.

Victoria's chances to win the game were quite high, as in respect of history - they achieved in last year´s tournament Tallink Cup 2011 the silver medals. Victoria and Festival met also in the last year tournament in the first leg of semi-finals, where Victoria won the game 2:1.

Before the game was also held nice little price ceremony, as Victoria football team participated and achieved second place in Nordic Cup 2011 (tournament for all vessels who visit harbors in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark) and first place in Port of Stockholm Cup 2011. Congratulations!

Despite the Victoria's victorious history, Festival under the Latvian flag played their game well and had their chances, but unfortunately it was not enough also this year. After first half the score was 0:0, but on the second half it started to happen. 10 minutes after half time Victoria scored and after 5 minutes Festival equalized the score 1:1. Five minutes before the ending whistle Victoria played the ball to Festival´s penalty area, where Festival defender made unfortunate mistake and kicked the ball in his own goal. Final score for Victoria 2:1 (half time 0:0) - again.
