Frequently Asked Questions

  • You can get non-alcoholic beer and wine in the buffet restaurants. Ask one of our friendly buffet staff members, and they’ll gladly assist you.

  • Enjoy complimentary beer and wine on tap at the buffet, and feel free to purchase other alcoholic beverages. Just give a friendly nudge to our buffet staff and they’ll be delighted to help you with your beverage choice.

  • While we don’t have specific discounts for vegans, vegetarians, or guests with other special dietary needs like post-gastric sleeve surgery, our buffet restaurants’ have diverse options. You’ll find gluten-free, lactose-free, and vegan choices aplenty. However, we recommend our à la carte restaurants for a more tailored dining experience for those with severe food allergies.

  • Yes, if your group includes at least 12 adults you need to order from a group menu in advance. But if your group of 12 includes children, feel free to order as you like without sticking to the group menu – we’ve got options to delight everyone.

  • Children aged 0–17 can choose from the children’s à la carte or the regular menu. We offer a discount up to 25% on our regular menu for children of all ages, which means the portions are half-sized – perfect for smaller appetites. While this discount is available to children of any age, we recommend these half-sized portions for kids up to 11. If a dish can’t be served in half a portion, it may not be suitable for the discount, but our delightful children’s menu is always a fantastic option for our younger guests.

During peak season and school holidays, a special children’s buffet is also available in the largest à la carte restaurant on each cruise ship (Tavolàta or Grill House), making mealtimes even more enjoyable and family-friendly.

  • When there are available seats, you can choose to dine at one of the other onboard restaurants instead of the buffet. In such a case, you can use the amount reserved for the buffet to pay your bill at the restaurant. You’ll need to present your boarding card or a meal coupon to do this. You can also use the amount at a café, Burger King (excluding self-service kiosks), or Fast Lane.

If you’d like to upgrade from the buffet breakfast to a special breakfast, you will need to pay the difference in price at the à la carte restaurant.

  • At our buffet restaurants, children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and children aged 12–17 for lunch and dinner. At least one accompanying adult is required for every 10 children in these cases. For breakfast, children aged 12–17 may visit the buffet without an adult.

Please note that our staff reserves the right to restrict minors from the buffet if there is a concern about alcohol consumption, for example in the case of large groups of young people. In such situations, minors may be directed to other dining areas on board.

  • Please note that we will hold your table reservation, excluding breakfast, for 15 minutes after your confirmed reservation time. After this period, the reservation will expire to accommodate other guests.

  • Yes, a meal package can only be purchased for a cruise trip. It is not possible to buy a meal package for a one-way or round-trip ferry crossing.

  • The Chef’s Kitchen serves the brunch menu only on the 10:30 departure. On later departures, the restaurant operates as an à la carte venue.

  • Yes, all Tallink Silja Line ships offer gluten-free, lactose-free, vegetarian, vegan and other allergy-friendly meal options. Our menus clearly show which dishes are vegan or can be prepared vegan. Simply step into any of our buffet or à la carte restaurants, let the restaurant staff know your dietary needs and they’ll guide you to the most suitable options.

  • If you have a severe food allergy, please contact our customer service before your trip. Our team will review your dietary needs with you and share the relevant information with the ship in advance, so suitable meal arrangements can be prepared for you.

Without prior notice, arranging suitable food on board may take time, especially during peak season.
