Frequently asked questions

  • Do I need to book a cabin for my ferry trip?

You do not need to book a cabin when traveling on our ships between Tallinn and Helsinki. Booking a cabin is usually necessary when traveling on our cruise ships on other routes. You can see the exact selection of travel classes and cabin types available for your trip in our booking system after selecting your travel date and departure time.

  • Are there special cabins for families traveling with children?

Yes. All our regular cabin types are suitable for families, but most of our cruise ships also have special family cabins. These offer more space and are often themed around children’s favorite characters. For example, on Silja Serenade and Silja Symphony, sailing between Helsinki and Stockholm, you can stay in a Moomin Family cabin, while Baltic Queen and Baltic Princess have Harri Family cabins.

On some ships, family cabins are located next to each other and can be connected to accommodate larger families.

  • Are pet-friendly cabins available?

Yes, all of our ships have pet-friendly cabins. Usually, up to three pets can stay with you in a pet-friendly cabin. For more information about pet travel options and requirements, see our “Traveling with pets” page.

  • Are accessible cabins available?

Yes, all of our ships have accessible cabins, which can be booked subject to availability. Accessible cabins usually include features such as wider doors, SOS buttons and reversible armrests in the restrooms and showers. You can see the specific features of each accessible cabin when choosing your cabin during booking. Check our “Special needs and assistance” page for more information about Tallink Silja Line’s accessible travel and assistance options.

  • Are allergy-friendly cabins available?

Yes, allergy-friendly cabins are available on our ships and can be booked subject to availability. These cabins have no carpeting and include special soaps suitable for guests with allergies. Pets are not allowed in allergy-friendly cabins.

  • Which cabin classes include a complimentary minibar?

Complimentary minibar items are included in Deluxe and Commodore cabins, Suites and Moomin Family cabins. The selection varies by cabin type and usually includes bottled water and soft drinks, but may also include champagne, beer and ship’s chocolate. You can contact the ship’s Information Desk to ask about replacing some items with alcohol-free or sugar-free alternatives.

  • How many people can stay in a cabin?

Cabin capacity depends on the cabin type. Standard cabins usually accommodate 1–4 passengers, plus either one child aged 0–5 without a separate bed or one child aged 0–2 in a baby bed. Family cabins can accommodate larger groups, with capacity depending on the cabin type and ship. Check the capacity of your chosen cabin when booking to make sure it suits your group size.

  • Could I be booked to share a cabin with someone I don’t know?

No. When you book a cabin on a Tallink Silja Line ship, the entire cabin is reserved for you and the people included in your booking. The entire cabin is yours even when you’re traveling alone. We don’t offer shared cabins and never book you into a cabin with someone you don’t know.
