Accessibility statement for Travel Class Upgrade website

This is an accessibility statement for the Travel Class Upgrade from Tallink, first published on 28 June 2025.

We want every journey with us to be smooth – both on sea and online. That’s why we’re working to ensure our website is accessible to all our guests, in line with the European Accessibility Directive and the standard EN 301 549.

This accessibility statement is based on an accessibility audit from an external evaluator. The Travel Class Upgrade website is not yet fully accessible. Known limitations are listed under “Known accessibility gaps”.

As an alternative, you can upgrade your travel class by contacting the customer service.

Compatibility

Travel Class Upgrade website is designed and tested to be compatible at least with the following assistive technologies:

  • iOS with VoiceOver screen reader;
  • iOS with VoiceOver voice commands;
  • Android with TalkBack screen reader;
  • Android with Voice Access voice commands;
  • Both Android and iOS with a physical keyboard;
  • Operation system zoom and font size increase options (up to 200%).

Known Accessibility Gaps

This is the list of known issues and the EN 301 549 standard requirements that are not met. We’re prioritizing fixes based on user impact and technical feasibility, and we appreciate your patience as we make these improvements.

General

  • Text and icons on top of images may not be contrasted enough. (9.1.4.3 Contrast (minimum), 9.1.4.11 Non-text contrast)
  • Texts on the page do not respond to the browser’s font resize settings. (11.7 User preferences)
  • When zooming the page using e.g. browser zoom, a horizontal scroll bar appears, and the side panel is not fully visible. (9.1.4.10 Reflow)
  • Headings, lists and page regions are not always correctly marked up. (9.1.3.1 Info and relationships)
  • Keyboard focus may move out of a modal while it is open. (9.2.4.3 Focus order)
  • Screen reader focus may move out of a modal while it is open and may jump to an unexpected location when the modal is closed. (9.1.3.2 Meaningful sequence)
  • After opening an expandable accordion, screen reader’s focus may skip the contents of the accordion. (9.1.3.2 Meaningful sequence)
  • When trip information is shown in multiple columns, it may be read out by the screen reader in an incorrect order, row by row. (9.1.3.2 Meaningful sequence)
  • When logged in, a bonus points slider is displayed after the total price. After selecting the amount of bonus points, screen reader user must navigate backwards to hear the updated total price. (9.1.3.2 Meaningful sequence)

Links and buttons

  • Interactive elements do not always receive a visual focus style when navigated to with a keyboard. Focus may occasionally disappear. (9.2.4.7 Focus visible)
  • On a rare occasion, it may not be possible to focus and use an interactive element with keyboard. (9.2.1.1 Keyboard)
  • The role and state of expandable accordions and image buttons may not be accessible for screen readers. (9.4.1.2 Name, role, value)
  • It may not be possible to open tooltips using screen readers. (9.4.1.2 Name, role, value)
  • On a mobile device, viewing additional cabin images requires swiping with a finger, as the arrow buttons are not clickable. (9.2.5.1 Pointer gestures)

Images

  • Product and banner images may be read out by the screen readers as numbers, or repetitive text. (9.1.1.1 Non-text content)
  • The logo, some icons and icon buttons may be missing text alternatives. (9.1.1.1 Non-text content)
  • Some decorative elements may be read out by the screen readers. (9.1.1.1 Non-text content)
