2005/2006 4th quarter and 12 month statistics

Passenger and cargo volumes show continuous growing trends

ASTallink Grupp served more than 2 million passengers in the period between June-August 2006 which is 96,7% more than last year. In the company’s ended finacial year 2005/2006 the passenger numbers increased 28,4% to 4,2 million passengers.

The majority of the passenger number increase is a result of investments made during the last financial year which include: Germany route, Sweden-Latvia route and the Finland-Sweden route which was a result of the purchase of Silja Line. At the same time the passenger numbers increased also on the earlier main routes of Tallink 4,1% on Finland-Estonia and 7,5% on the Sweden-Estonia route.

The passenger, cargo units and passenger car numbers for the 4th quarter (June-August) and the 2005/2006 financial year which ended August 31st 2006 were following:

The 4th quarter increase on the Finland-Estonia route met with expectations. The main increase was a result of bringing Galaxy on to the route. Transfering Romantika to the Stockholm-Tallinn route increased the passenger numbers on the Sweden-Estonia route. The changes in the first half of the year in the Swedish sales organisation and the one-time expenses in the spring of 2006 had a positive effect since the launch of the Riga-Stockholm route has not had a negative impact on passenger numbers on the route between Sweden and Estonia. The only slight negative impact on the Sweden-Estonia route is the decline of passenger car volumes, as earlier passenger cars that came from Latvia and Lithuania now use the Riga-Stockholm route.

Cargo truck and trailer numbers continued to increase between Finland and Estonia. With the increase in cargo units, the larger capacity Regal Star was transfered from the Paldiski-Kapellskär route in March 2006 to the Tallinn-Helsinki route and the smaller capacity Kapella operating on the Finnish route was transfered to the Paldiski-

Kapellskär route since on that route the market was not increasing.

With the vessel transfer the cargo unit capacity decreased between Sweden and Estonia which has had an effect in the decrese of cargo unit numbers.

The investments made during the last financial which had effect to the yearly numbers only for few months will further increase AS Tallink Grupp’s total passengers, cargo and cars numbers in the 2006/2007 financial year as the effect will then be for the full 12 months period. For the Tallinn-Helsinki route we are waiting for the next generation fast ferry which will be delivered in the spring of 2007 where we will be able to offer passengers higher quality and a stable service. With the new vessel to come we believe this will increase the passenger volumes also on Tallinn-Helsinki route.
