Yesterday, various newspapers published articles that Tallink will establish a hotel and restaurant in Helsinki. AS Tallink Grupp has the following comment:
AS Tallink Grupp has several times previously stated that one part of its overall strategy is to expand its products and services related to tourism in those markets where we operate including operation of hotels.
We have been approached as one possible operator of a hotel in the eventual possibility that a hotel would be built in the Helsinki harbour area. AS Tallink Grupp previously has not invested in real estate and in this case our interest is only limited to operating a hotel. The reference to building a hotel is at the moment in the planning stages and the final decision will be taken by the City of Helsinki. AS Tallink Grupp presently has no binding agreements with the possible owners of the hotel or its developer.
