The following operational factors influenced the development.

ESTONIA-FINLAND

The April of current year was a period of changes for Tallinn-Helsinki route. With the delivery of M/S Star in the middle of April we launched the new Tallink Shuttle product. That led to the sale of our high-speed crafts Tallink AutoExpress 3 and Tallink AutoExpress 4 and also to rerouting of M/S Meloodia and her temporary substitute M/S Vana Tallinn. The mentioned changes and also earlier start of high speed traffic compared to the previous year affected the number of passengers transported between Tallinn and Helsinki.

M/S Galaxy, larger in capacities, operates Tallinn-Helsinki route instead of M/S Romantika.

The higher cargo capacity and demand led to higher number of cargo units in April 2007. The addition of M/S Star and Superfast vessels’ car deck capacity has positively affected also the number of transported passenger vehicles.

ESTONIA-SWEDEN

M/S Romantika, larger in capacities, operates Tallinn-Stockholm line instead of M/S Regina Baltica.

M/S Vana Tallinn was not operating on the Paldiski-Kapellskär route in April 2007 and both the passenger and cargo capacity were thereby smaller than in April 2006.

The cargo and vehicle volumes on Estonia-Sweden routes are partly affected also from the fact that some Latvian and Lithuanian customers are using Latvia-Sweden route instead.

LATVIA-SWEDEN

The operations on route between Latvia and Sweden were started in the middle of April in 2006 with one vessel. In April 2007 the route was operated during the entire month and the addition of M/S Vana Tallinn in the end of the month allows daily departures from both destinations.

FINLAND-GERMANY

In April 2006 the Finland-Germany route was started in the middle of April and was thereby operated only for two weeks

In April 2007 M/S Superfast VII was in docking and didn’t operate for three days.

In April 2007 M/S Superfast VIII didn’t operated between Finland and Germany for five days while she was temporarily operating only the Estonia-Finland leg.
