Statistics for April 2008

In April 2008 AS Tallink Grupp transported 496 090 passengers. Tallinn-Helsinki route is showing continuous increase supported by the new Tallink Shuttle service. On the other routes, the different time of the Easter holidays this year results in the lower passenger numbers compared to the last year. The following operational factors influenced the development.

FINLAND-SWEDEN

The sale of M/S SkyWind in August 2007 resulted in smaller capacities in March 2008 compared to March 2007.

In the beginning of year 2008 M/S Sea Wind schedule was changed so that the vessel will not stop in the Aland Islands any more. As a result the vessel is now carrying only cargo units compared to passenger, car and cargo mix before.

M/S Silja Europa operates between Turku and Stockholm compared to Turku-Kapellskär route last year.

ESTONIA-FINLAND

From April 25th the Tallink Shuttle service is operated by two ships M/S Star and M/S Superstar. In April last year M/S Vana Tallinn, M/S Kapella and M/S Star operated only part time on the route.

LATVIA-SWEDEN

In the end of April 2007 M/S Vana Tallinn started operations.

FINLAND-GERMANY

The traffic results were affected by the increased competition in cargo transportation.
M/S Superfast VIII was in dock and did not operate for 7 days in April 2008.
