AS Tallink Grupp serviced a record number of 8, 4 million passengers during the last financial year, which ended on 31st of August. The passenger volumes of the company have gone up 4 percent compared to the previous year. The number of transported passenger vehicles increased by over 100 000 units reaching 964 000 (+12%) and cargo units by 3 percent.
In financial year 2009/2010 Tallink transported altogether 8 428 055 (+4%) passengers, 964 876 (+12%) passenger vehicles and 258 773 (+3%) cargo units.
For the second year, the company reached a new record in the monthly volumes in July, transporting over one million passengers in one calendar month.
The largest increase was seen on Latvia-Sweden route, where 605 837 (+16%) passengers were transported. The largest number of passengers was transported on Finland-Estonia route with 3 790 030 passengers (+9%). The passenger number on Finland-Sweden route was
3 136 360 (-1%) and on Estonia-Sweden 837 935 (-1%). On Germany-Finland route the passenger number decreased by 42 percent to 57 893 due to maintenance works of the vessels during winter months.
In August Tallink transported 926 542 passengers, which is 9 percent more than last year. The number of transported passenger vehicles increased by 14 percent to 121 105 and of cargo units by 15 percent to 22 354.
The financial year of AS Tallink Grupp begins on 1st of September and ends on 31st of August. The company is listed on Nasdaq OMX Tallinn Stock Exchange.
