Tallink broke the passenger number record with over million passengers in July

With 1 054 087 serviced passengers in July, the company broke the record of transporting a million passengers in just one calendar month, announced AS Tallink Grupp. Compared to the results of July 2008 the passenger volumes increased by 16 percent last month.

The largest growth was seen on Latvia-Sweden, Finland-Estonia and Finland-Sweden routes. In July Tallink transported 75 631 passengers (+61 %) on Latvia-Sweden route, 433 384 (+23 %) on Finland-Estonia route and 424 233 (+11 %) on Finland-Sweden route.

On the route between Estonia and Sweden, Tallink transported 102 768 passengers (+3 %) and on the Finland-Germany route 18 071 passengers (-30 %).The results of the Germany-Finland route were influenced by the change, according to which starting from last September two vessels continue on the route instead of three.

Additionally to passenger numbers, also the number of transported vehicles increased in the last month. Tallink transported 132 577 passenger vehicles (+27 %), the number of cargo units decreased by 21 percent to 18 962 in July.
