AS Tallink Grupp transported altogether 574 999 passengers in November, which is 19,5 percent more than last year. The passenger numbers as well as market share increase on company’s all major routes. The passenger number for the first quarter of the financial year 2008/2009 increased 18,3 percent.
There was a significant increase of passengers on Finland-Estonia route, where Tallink serviced 279 915 passengers in November, which is 30,9 percent than last year.
On Sweden-Finland route the passenger numbers increased by 10,9 percent to 213 883.
On Latvia-Sweden route the passenger number increased also by a large extent, as Tallink serviced on the route 28 005 passengers (+34 %) during the past month.
On Sweden-Estonia route the passenger number increased by 2,2 percent to 48 920.
On Germany-Finland route the company serviced 4 276 passengers (-33%). The result is influenced by the change on the route according to which only two Superfast vessels operate on the route from September 2008 instead of three.
The number of transported passenger vehicles increased by 37,4 percent to 54 628 and the number of cargo units decreased by 23,2 percent to 22 926 units.
The indicators for the first quarter of the financial year 2008/2009 were also very positive. The number of serviced passengers increased by 18,3 percent to 1 786 205 passengers. The passenger numbers increased on all major routes: on Finland-Estonia route by 26,9 percent to 805 144 passengers, on Latvia-Sweden route by 35 percent to 98 043 passengers, on Finland-Sweden route by 12,3 percent to 707 979 passengers and on Sweden-Estonia route by 6,9 percent to 157 298 passengers. Because of the long term charter of one ferry, the passenger number decreased only on Finland-Germany route to 17 741 (-30,4) passengers. The number of transported passenger numbers increased by 32,1 percent to174 471 vehicles and the number of cargo units decreased to 76 313 units (-17%).
