Tallink's cargo ship damaged its ramp in Port of Helsinki
Due to bad weather conditions, fluctuation of water levels and waves, the company’s cargo ship Regal Star damaged its ramp today while docked in the port of Helsinki. During the incident no injury or damage was caused to passengers or cargo on board, announced AS Tallink Grupp.
Tallink`s Technical Director Mr. Rein Õnnis said, that passengers and cargo are completely safe. “The damaged ramp will be supported and vehicles can drive safely to land. The ship will be sent to BLRT shipyards in Estonia for repairs and will be back on route as soon as all necessary repairs are done,” said Õnnis.
Regal Star was built in 1999 and is owned by AS Tallink Grupp. The vessel is a 156,6 meters long and 23,83 meters wide cargo ship, which accommodates up to 80 passengers and 2083 lane meters of vehicles.
