Discussions with union
Today in Stockholm the Swedish Seamen’s Union (SEKO) and representatives of Tallink Silja Line discussed the incident onboard Silja Symphony which took place on the 25th of October. During the discussions it was confirmed that the management of Tallink Silja Line regrets the incident.
The Swedish Seamen’s Union emphasized its demands to guarantee fair personnel policies, follow the collective bargaining agreement and the need to continue operating under the Swedish flag. The question of compensation to the participants of the incident may be discussed at future meetings between the union and management of Tallink Silja Line.
The Swedish Seamen’s Union SEKO and the management of Tallink Silja Line will continue negotiations in a positive environment.
