AS Tallink Grupp transported 7 070 264 passengers in the financial year 2007/2008, the largest growth took place on company’s Latvia-Sweden (+39, 3%) and Estonia-Finland (+15,5%) routes.
AS Tallink Grupp vice chairman of the board Mr. Andres Hunt said, that the key to the success have been the decisions and investments made at the right time. „Latvia-Sweden route has started very well, and now got a newer vessel Festival. Estonia-Finland route was added two brand new vessels during this year – Superstar and Baltic Princess“, added Hunt.
AS Tallink Grupp transported during the financial year 2007/2008, which ended on 31st of August, on Estonia-Finland route 2 934 674 passengers, Estonia-Sweden routes 772 811 passengers (+8, 8 %), Latvia-Sweden route 357 533 passengers, Finland-Sweden routes 2 860 278 passengers (-11,6%) and Finland-Germany route 144 968 passengers (+11,3 %). Altogether the passenger volumes increased by 196 925 passengers (3 percent).
In 2007/2008 Tallink transported altogether 671 537 (+13,6 %) passenger vehicles and 331 149 (-8 %) cargo units.
The renewal of the fleet by three routes carried out in July, increased the passenger volumes of August 8,3 percent to 782 921 passengers. Baltic Princess started on Tallinn-Helsinki route and Galaxy was launched on Turku-Stockholm route in July and Festival was introduced on the Riga-Stockholm route in the beginning of August.
AS Tallink Grupp is one of the leading shipping companies on the Baltic Sea. Tallink´s fleet consists of 19 vessels and the company is operating on seven different routes. Additionally the company is operating the hotel chain Tallink Hotels with three hotels in Tallinn.
